Lesson Location: Lessons may take place at the student’s home, online via Zoom, or another mutually agreed-upon public location.
Lesson Scheduling, Cancellation, or Rescheduling: Lessons are scheduled during the final lesson of each month for the upcoming month of lessons. If a student wishes to discontinue lessons for the following month, they must notify Ruben by the end of their final lesson of the current month. Mid-month cancellations will not be refunded for any unused lessons.
Student Cancellations: If a lesson must be canceled (due to illness, family emergencies, or schedule conflicts), at least 24 hours’ notice is required. A make-up lesson will offered to reschedule the missed lesson or the cancelled lesson will be credited toward the following month’s payment
Late Cancellations or No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to attend a lesson (including not logging in within 10 minutes of the start time for Zoom lessons), will result in the lesson not being refunded. Any rescheduled make-up lesson would then be billed as an additional lesson for that month, and due by that lesson.
Instructor Cancellations: If Ruben needs to reschedule a lesson, he will provide at least 24 hours’ notice and offer to reschedule or credit the missed lessons towards the following month’s payment.
Payment Schedule: Payments for the full month of lessons are due at the end of the first lesson of each month. Accepted payment methods include Venmo, PayPal, or cash. A 10% late fee per week will be applied to any overdue lesson payments.
Student Expectations: Students are expected to practice regularly and come prepared for each lesson. Persistent lack of preparation may result in termination of lessons.
Parent/Guardian Notice: For younger students, parents are welcome to sit in on lessons and will receive updates on what was covered and assigned for the week. They are also encouraged to take an active role in support their student’s at-home practice on material covered during the lesson.
Materials: Students (or parents/guardians of younger students) are responsible for providing and maintaining their violin or viola, including any requirement maintenance. They are also responsible for purchasing any required books, repertoire, or other lesson as recommended by Ruben.
