Ruben's work as an arts administrator centers on creating equal opportunities for audiences, schools, and communities to experience the performing arts.
Ruben has worked with the PostClassical Ensemble (PCE) since 2021, currently as Education Programs and Partnerships Manager. Through his vision, PCE created in-school residency programs and field-trip opportunities for two DC Public Schools. Along with the work inside the schools, he was instrumental in re-affirming PCE's residency program with Georgetown University, offering students direct access to PCE musicians, internships, and outreach opportunities. Ruben became General Manager of the New England Philharmonic in 2023, an award-winning contemporary orchestra in Boston. Along with producing 4 concerts per season, Ruben manages the orchestra's financial, development, and communication campaigns. He additional executes outreach programs, Call for Scores Competition, and Young Artist Competition. Starting in August 2024, he will join Castle of our Skins as Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships. In this role, he will lead community engagement and partnership programming of the organization, including educational programs with Boston Public Schools, the Music Inclusion HUB, and other collaborations with music institutions in Boston. |
