As a teaching artist, Ruben taught for four years as an elementary and middle school strings teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools and Prince William County Public Schools. During that same time period, he worked with the DC Youth Orchestra Program as a violin/viola beginning-level teacher, sectional coach, and director of an intermediate-level string orchestra. Through his commitment to access of high-level instruction, he additionally taught violin lessons through the Prince George's Philharmonic Educational Outreach Program.
